Every Thursday night, the Point 83 bike club has an informal gathering in Westlake Park.  This is a fun and slow ride that ends at an undisclosed park, but also a ride at you must ride at your own risk.

Description about their club and rides from Point 83’s website:

A few friends and acquaintances wanted to meet new people, have a drink, and explore their city by bike. They started in 2004 and still do today. The idea has culminated in multiple trips to the ER and countless therapy sessions.
Tues & Thurs rides, races, disorganized weekend rides, something involving waffles, injuries, camping, touring, disdain from the bike community, clumsy sexual advances, tunnels in Sea-Tac, and a wicked case of alcoholism. Zomg.

Come along and ride or heckle from a distance if that’s your thing.

Activity Guidelines:

  • Fun with a bike: The bike is only a tool to greater happiness. You’re encouraged to host events that aren’t “about the bike” but are cooler because a bike is incidentally involved.
  • Liability: We’re just a calendar for you to advertise your event. You’re responsible for the participants on your own ride/activity. If you want to cover your liability concerns, adapt & use the League of American Bicyclists ride waiver.
  • Plan ahead: Here’s a comic to help you out.
